Optimist Club of Mornington
Since 1991 the Optimist Club of Mornington has been supporting the youth of our community. We support Milverton Minor Ball, Central Perth Minor Hockey League, Milverton Figure Skating and Newton Tigers Soccer as well as the various facilities and parks where these programs take place. We fund raise at fish fries, BBQ’s and bingos so we can support the many worthy requests that come our way. We run a St. John Ambulance Babysitting course in Milverton twice a year. We partner with the local library on projects such as a Bike Safety Rodeo. We look after a section of the local G2G Trail and clean a section of Road 131 through the Adopt-a-Highway program. We provide Christmas presents for kids in need through the Adopt-a-Family program at our local Loaves & Fishes Food Bank. All this while “looking at the sunny side of everything” (part of our Optimist Creed) and having a lot of fun. We meet twice a month, once for business and once for a dinner meeting, usually at the local Milverton Legion. We always welcome new members.
